Frequentis Canada is looking for a dynamic individual to join our well-established team as Quality Manager. As part of the management team, you will be responsible for leading, coordinating and implementing the improvement of business processes and practices through the analysis of processes and procedures and ensuring ongoing quality practice assurance across the organisation.
Reporting to the President, the Quality Manager is responsible for providing quality advice to the organisation and projects as well as developing an ongoing work program to ensure quality control and assurance of product and services and quality assurance.
Working with internal and external clients, the Quality Manager shall also manage and oversee the design, development, and implementation of the Quality Management System (QMS) and coordinate the management of internal and external audit processes including maintaining certification to quality standards ISO 9001, 14001 and 45001.
The position is based in Gatineau, Quebec, Canada Key Tasks
- Optimizing and maintaining QM-systems according to ISO9001, 14001 and 45001 to ensure certification is maintained.
- Provide up-to-date expert advice, reporting and briefings to the organization regarding quality issues and opportunities.
- Create, update and review policies, procedures, and guidelines in accordance with the required standards, legislation, and best practice.
- Establish, maintain, and report metrics to accurately track the current state of the Frequentis Canada QMS.
- Conduct recertification, oversee and lead ISO audits
- Conduct and participate in internal audits
- Ensure compliance with software and safety quality standards (ISO 9001, ED-109A)
- Conduct supplier audits
- Lead, organize and represent Frequentis Canada in periodic customer audits
- Establish and maintain an Improvements Program.
- Evaluate and maintain a Legal Obligation Register covering the requirements of 9001, 45001, and 14001
- Improve reliability of new product development processes.
- Ensure Electrostatic Discharge standards are maintained.
- Provide EHS expertise, guidance and advice to management, and health and safety representatives, ensuring they understand their role and meet their legislative obligations.
- Review and update the EHS management system, including standards, policies and procedures and supporting systems, ensuring that all relevant legislative and regulatory requirements and standards are met.
- Ensure that rigorous EHS audits, inspections and investigations are conducted, and that appropriate risk identification, assessment and control measures are in place.
- Coordinate the EHS Induction processes for new employees.
- Ensure that breaches and any non-compliance or observations are investigated, resolved, corrective actions taken, and learnings identified and disseminated.
- Engage with management and staff on EHS issues and programs, communicate and promote effective EHS practices.
- Determine the EHS training needs of Frequentis Canada and establish the training program.
- Provide guidance and advice to management on environmental initiatives and opportunities.
- Conduct audits on existing Frequentis Canada environmental initiatives Key Qualifications
- Engineering or related technical qualifications with 3-5 years’ experience
- Auditor qualifications and deep ISO 9001 : 2015 knowledge
- EHS qualifications
- Proven track record in quality management, preferably in tech-driven environment
- Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Mission critical mindset
- Hands-on mentality and willingness to solve issues that arise (including the personal follow-up of work-packages that the project team is unable to handle)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Excellent leadership and people management skills
- Ability to negotiate and resolve conflicts
- Eligible for Secret Security Clearance within the first year of employment
- Knowledge of ED109A and / or ED153 is a strong asset
- Bilingualism in French / English is a strong asset
