Additional position information :
- This is a unionized position;
- 40-hour / week schedule, from Sunday to Saturday;
- Day, evening, and night shifts, rotating every 2 weeks;
- Evening premium at $10.25 / hour;
- Night premium at $20.50 / hour;
- Weekend premium at $103.73 / hour.
Responsibilities :
- Plan and coordinate the loading and unloading operations of containers from trains, ships, and trucks at our two terminals;
- Maintain and / or increase productivity goals by efficiently using our human and material resources as well as our warehousing environment;
- Apply the company's safety regulations and work practices so that our employees work in a safe environment;
- Propose qualitative and productivity improvement areas;
- Make recommendations to improve customer service.
Requirements and Skills :
- University and / or college degree in operations management, transportation logistics, or any other relevant field;
- Minimum of 5 years of operational experience preferably in logistics, transportation, or shipping;
- Experience in managing unionized personnel;
- Ability to work under pressure and make decisions with a high degree of responsibility;
- Excellent communication skills;
- Positive attitude, highly developed leadership;
- Ability to work outdoors and on different shifts (on rotation) to supervise work;
- Must be able to climb aboard a ship to inspect work and communicate with the crew;
- Proficiency in standard computer tools;
- Good knowledge of artificial intelligence (AI);
- Oral and written bilingualism (French and English) adapted to the function.
