CorporateAccountingisintegraltotheoverallefficacyoftheaccountingteam,responsibleforconsolidatedreview and analysis,communicatingfinancialresultsinternallyandexternallyincludingto theparentcompany, communicating,andmonitoringadherenceto companypolicies,amongotheractivities.
ThegoaloftheCorporate Accountingteamisto serveas akeypartnertothebusinessandsetthetoneofbestpracticesacrossthecompany.
Responsibilities :
Updatequarterlyandannualmanagementdiscussion&analysisandIFRSfinancialstatements,inatimely and efficientmanner,whilemaintainingdataintegrity
Assistinpreparationofsupplementalreportingpackage,boardmaterialsand accompanying presentations
Assistwith externalauditprocessbyprovidingsupportinginformation,asrequired
Co-ordinateanalysisgatheringacrossaccountinggroups,ensuringuseoflatestversionsand update acrossreports
Monitoringstatusofreportsectioncompletion,ensuringstrictadherenceto deadlines
Performingvarianceanalysisforselectfinancialstatementlineitemsagainstprioryear,priorquarter, budget,forecast,etc.
Prepareadhocreportsand analysisas requiredbymanagement
Preparelegalentityfinancialstatementsto beusedforthepreparationoftaxreturns
Drivecontinuousimprovementwithinareasofresponsibility,includingsharingideasandbestpractices withteammembers,withthepurposeoffindingefficiencies
Ensureinternalcontrolswithinareasofresponsibilityaremaintainedatalltimes
Supportteamwithdepartmentaland company-wideinitiatives
Qualifications :
Recognizedprofessionalaccountingdesignation(CPA,CApreferred)
WorkingknowledgeofIFRSfinancialreportingand minimum3-yearexperiencewith TSX listedcompanies
ProficiencywithMicrosoftSuiteapplications(Excel,PowerPoint,Word)
ProficiencywithFinancialsystems(JDE,BItools,SpreadsheetServer,Workiva,etc.)isan asset
RealEstateindustryexperience(preferred)
Stronganalytical,criticalthinking,andproblem-solvingskillswithhighlevelofattentionto detailand accuracy
Abilityto communicatehighlevelissuesinaclearand concisemanner,bothverballyandwritten
