As the Risk & Controls Specialist, you will be joining a dedicated group pf Bank Operations professional where customer needs are top of mind. The Bank Operations Risk & Control Specialist support the design, execution, and ongoing monitoring of the Bank’s operational risk and control framework. The role partners closely with Operations, Fraud, Compliance, Risk and Technology teams to ensure risks are identified, controls are effective, and regulatory obligations are met.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Support the execution of the Bank Operations’ Risk & Control Programs, including: Process Criticality & Inherent Risk Assessments (PCIRA), Risk & Control Self-Assessment (RCSA), and control testing.

  • Assist in ensuring controls align with internal policies and external regulatory expectations to assess Bank Operational risks and controls and identify potential gaps or improvement opportunities.

  • Support issue management and remediation and assist in reviewing and validating control remediation to ensure issues are effectively addressed.

  • Support and execute regulatory reporting and compliance activities, including AML, FATCA/CRS, and other regulatory requirements.

  • Support internal and external audits, SOX testing, and regulatory examinations, including responding to inquiries, coordinating evidence, and supporting walkthroughs.

  • Support review of control reports and access management tasks.

  • Build strong relationships across Bank Operations and partner teams to enable effective risk management and governance practices.

Required Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years of experience in Risk or Audit, Operations, or Business Support within a financial services environment

  • Strong understanding of operational risk, internal controls, and regulatory expectations (e.g., AML, SOX, access controls)

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and investigative skills with attention to detail

  • Strong written and oral communication skills, ability to effectively communicate ideas and recommendations


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and navigate ambiguity

  • Prior experience to control testing supporting audit engagements, regulatory reviews, or compliance reporting is strongly preferred.

Salary range is expected to be between

$59,100.00 CAD - $98,500.00 CAD
