  • Completion of the proposed separation of Kidney Care from Baxter into a standalone company (to be named Vantive) remains subject to the satisfaction of customary conditions.
  • Your Role at Baxter :

    In this role, you will support the Finance Department and be a strategic business partner for the Kidney Care business in Canada. You will report to the Manager, Finance

    and be a strategic business partner for multiple key product areas, contributing to a culture of excellence, accountability, and collaboration.

    What you'll be doing :

    Provide comprehensive analytical support for the during the operating plan, forecasts, and the long range plan for the Technical services and water business.

    Partner with teams from the Accounting Center of Excellence (A2R COE) for month-end close activities, including analysis and reporting of results by focusing on key drivers for sales and pretax profit variances.

    Proactively engage as a valued business partner in ad hoc projects as required, including participation in initiatives impacting pretax profit and support other Baxter Canada planning initiatives as required.

    Recommend new processes and procedures that utilize technology, build efficiencies, and streamline workflows.

    Support key business partners with profitability analysis, expense tracking, variance analysis and business development opportunities. Provide decision support to help grow and improve profitability.Identify and communicate business risks and opportunities.

    Liaising with the FP&A Global Delivery Center (GDC) and other cross-functional leads to support the creation of budgets, forecasts and management reports, while ensuring compliance with all quality / control requirements.

    What you'll have :

    Bachelor’s degree in Accounting & / or Finance

    Minimum 2 years of progressive financial experience

    Demonstrated ability to work in a detail-oriented environment and possess the desire to learn new and

    challenging skills.

    Strong Excel, Word, and PowerPoint proficient

    Good communication and strong interpersonal skills.

    Solid technical and financial knowledge.

    Ability to work in a team-oriented environment.

    Good analytical skills with familiarity with accounting, financial analysis and reporting.

    Technical and financial knowledge including, internal control requirements and accounting principles as well as understanding of relevant business environment.

    Nice to have :

    Knowledge of JD Edwards & Cognos preferred

    Financial planning experience is an asset

    Management cost accounting experience is an asset
