Job Title : Business Development Site Assessment and Remediation

Reports to : Manager, Business Development British Columbia, Yukon

Department : Environmental Services

Location : Burnaby. .

Basic Purpose :

In British Columbia, Bureau Veritas empowers others with the data and know-how to make better environmental decisions so that we all benefit from a more sustainable future.

In this role, you will work with our local BC team, a tenured team of customer experience and technical experts who are guided by the following principles.

You will be responsible for a portfolio of new and existing customers within the province’s site assessment and remediation sector.

We are a Made in BC laboratory provider with a national reach. You will execute on strategies to promote Bureau Veritas services in the BC region, growing market share and increasing brand loyalty in your portfolio.

You will support our national Customer Solutions teams as environmental samples from your customers are analyzed in our laboratory network.

We are truly excited about BC’s economic momentum. You will be responsible for assessing and pursing new business opportunities and applying Bureau Veritas’ laboratory scope to fill client unmet needs.

You will look beyond regulatory compliance and, with support, become a go-to for your customers when specialty analyses or customized solutions are needed.

We deliver an industry-leading customer experience. You will lead onboarding activities with emerging customers, while developing and nurturing relationships with client stakeholders.

You will deliver on Bureau Veritas’ reputation as being the easiest laboratory to do business with.

We know that the adoption of technology is changing our marketplace. You will act as an advocate for Bureau Veritas digital tools, working alongside customer teams as they save time and money on field programs.

You will support the use of our digital tools to simplify the journey from laboratory supply ordering, to submissions. through to reporting.

You will use technical writing and familiarity with social media and online platforms to build engaging, creative content to tell Bureau Veritas’ BC story to a larger network.

We know that results matter. You will contribute to Bureau Veritas’ sector-specific business plans in British Columbia, ensuring that the organization is able to leverage and capitalize on emerging trends in the analytical services marketplace.

Key Accountability / Responsibilities :

  • Develop new customer partnerships while stewarding relationships with existing customers within the BC site assessment and remediation sector.
  • Gather the voice of the customer and leverage personal experience to define sector requirements and unmet wants.
  • Contribute to, and execute on, sector-specific business plans to increase revenue from site assessment and remediation sector.
  • Shape Bureau Veritas’ value proposition and service offering to site assessment and remediation customers.
  • Represent Bureau Veritas by being an ambassador of the brand at conferences, workshops, trade association meetings and other industry networking events
  • Assist in the management of annual revenue budgets, monthly forecasting and expense management for the site assessment and remediation sector.
  • Adhere to Bureau Veritas Code of Ethics Policy. Support and comply with all Bureau Veritas policies, Quality System and Health & Safety program
  • All other responsibilities as assigned.

Skills and Knowledge :

  • Experience working on environmental programs or site assessment and remediation projects. This experience may come from working with a consultancy, an environmental laboratory, a regulatory body or with government.
  • Outstanding customer relationship management skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Energetic personality that can work independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong leadership skills and the ability to collaborate and influence colleagues in a matrix structure.
  • Effective in facilitating the growth and successes of others, including coaching and mentoring.

Working Conditions :

  • Flexible working hours and hybrid (home / office) working arrangement.
  • Requires travel to the various business centers in Western Canada.

The salary range for this role is $75k-$95 plus bonus.

Pay within this range varies by work location and may also depend on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and market location.
