Through the National Shipbuilding Strategy (NSS), the Government of Canada has embarked on one of the largest procurement projects since the Second World War. The NSS is a nation-building effort to create a sustainable Canadian shipbuilding industry, secure long-term job opportunities and build the next generation of ships for the Canadian Coast Guard and Royal Canadian Navy. Through its NSS-related work, Seaspan Shipyards is owning the redevelopment of our domestic shipbuilding industry on the West Coast and delivering on the promise of ships built in Canada, by Canadians.
The Intern, COE lab will be responsible for conducting some mechanical testing, supporting technical department and production team, conducting failure and root cause analysis on welding related issues, etc. This internship will provide exposure to weld / material testing procedure in one of a kind metallurgical testing lab, with a team of professional engineers in one of the largest shipbuilding programs of our time.
Note : Due to business needs, this position is required to be fully on-site based at our Operations Center at 50 Pemberton Avenue, North Vancouver.
What you'll do
- Assist in performing different mechanical testing.
- Support in updating of working procedures in COE Lab.
- Support Welding Quality Management System (WQMS) initiative.
- Assist in reviewing / organizing COE Lab Database.
- Work on special project as assigned by Welding Engineering and Welding Quality Senior Manager.

We require a full-time commitment Monday-Friday, 40 hours per week with an hourly rate of $26.00 / hour.

End Date of Internship : August 29th, 2025
