Verification & Test Engineering Specialist

We are currently seeking a Verification & Test Engineering Specialist to join our Ottawa based team with regular travel to our testing locations mainly in the United States!
What will you be doing?
- Execute hardware, software, and system-level verification tests
- Develop and run test procedures for mechanical, electronic systems, and software
- Support integration testing of sensors, avionics, and actuators
- Assist with field testing, including ground tests and flight tests
- Participate in testing at external facilities for : Environmental testing (thermal, vibration, shock); EMI / EMC testing and troubleshooting
- Collect, analyze, and document test data and results
- Identify anomalies, support root-cause analysis, and track issues through to closure
- Maintain test documentation, reports, and requirements traceability
- Provide engineering-level production support, including : Investigating complex hardware, software, or system failures after basic troubleshooting has been exhausted
- Performing root-cause analysis using logs, schematics, test data, and instrumentation
- Reproducing field or production issues in the lab and defining corrective actions
- Working with design and manufacturing teams to implement and verify fixes
- Field testing work, including trips to US field test locations, external environmental and EMI / EMC test facilities etc with expected travel of 1025%
What do we need from you?
A 3-year college diploma or a Bachelors degree in Aerospace, Electrical, Computer, Mechanical Engineering, or a related fieldStrong experience in test, verification, or integration rolesFamiliarity with embedded systems, including microcontrollers, sensors, and power systemsBasic experience with software testing using C / C++, Python, or similar languagesProficiency with laboratory equipment such as oscilloscopes, power supplies, and data acquisition systems (DAQs)Exposure to system-level testing of aerospace or autonomous systems would be an assetExperience with environmental testing such as thermal chambers, vibration tables would also be helpfulFamiliarity with EMI / EMC testing concepts and mitigationUnderstanding of requirements-based verification and test documentationWillingness and ability to support hands-on field testing and travel as required nationally and international (mainly US) up to 25%Travel may include multi-day test campaigns and occasional work outdoors or in industrial test environmentsCompliance Statement
