Job description

Requirements

:
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in social work, counselling or other university degree relevant to the practice of counselling and psychotherapy from a recognized institution
  • Member in good standing of a Professional College (OCSWSSW or CRPO) or in process of registration
  • A minimum of three years of relevant experience
  • Experience and practice in counselling and/or psychotherapy
  • In-depth understanding of mental health issues
  • In-depth knowledge of psychosocial assessment and counseling techniques
  • Ability to handle crises effectively
  • Knowledgeable on the mental health community resources available
  • Commitment to working co-operatively with clients and members of the interdisciplinary team
  • Openness to the customs and habits of other cultures
  • Excellent organization and interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge and ability to use basic computer software
  • Excellent knowledge of oral and written French and English
  • Be willing to work flexible hours to meet the needs of clients
  • Have access to a motor vehicle and hold a valid Ontario driver's license
