Job description

Algo is a rapidly growing technology company specializing in the manufacturing and supply of audio and video communication products. Our innovative solutions are designed to make industrial communication safe, simple, and effective. We collaborate with some of the largest technology companies globally to deliver cutting-edge products to our customers.

As we continue to scale, we're investing in internal software platforms that improve how our teams work. We're building a modern cloud-based application ecosystem that streamlines business processes, automates workflows, and supports data-driven decision making across the organization.

We're looking for a DevOps Developer who enjoys building software just as much as operating it. This is a unique opportunity to join a small, high-impact internal software team where you'll help shape both the applications and the infrastructure that powers them.

The Role

Algo is building a suite of internally developed cloud applications that support employees across every department of the business.

As our DevOps Developer, you'll play a key role throughout the entire software lifecycle—from developing applications and APIs to deploying, securing, monitoring, and maintaining production systems.

In the early stages, you'll spend a significant amount of time contributing to application development, helping build backend services, integrations, automation, and internal web applications. As our internal software portfolio grows, your focus will naturally evolve toward cloud infrastructure, deployment automation, reliability, security, and operational excellence while continuing to support new application development.

You'll deploy and operate these systems within Algo's existing AWS environment while helping establish best practices for cloud infrastructure, CI/CD, monitoring, documentation, and long-term maintainability.

Key Responsibilities

Cloud Infrastructure & DevOps

  • Own the deployment, operation, and ongoing maintenance of Algo's internally developed cloud applications.
  • Design and maintain secure, reliable, scalable, and cost-effective cloud infrastructure within AWS.
  • Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines, deployment automation, release processes, environment configurations, and rollback procedures.
  • Manage application-specific AWS services, networking, storage, compute resources, and supporting infrastructure.
  • Monitor production environments, respond to incidents, perform root cause analysis, and implement preventative improvements.
  • Manage backups, disaster recovery, application security, access controls, and operational monitoring.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, deployment standards, architecture documentation, and operational runbooks.

Software Development

  • Develop and maintain backend services, APIs, integrations, automation, and internal business applications.
  • Contribute to frontend and backend development where required.
  • Build integrations between internal systems, databases, and third-party platforms.
  • Participate in code reviews, testing, debugging, and ongoing application improvements.
  • Help design maintainable, scalable software architecture that supports future business growth.

Collaboration

  • Work closely with internal stakeholders to understand business processes and translate requirements into technical solutions.
  • Partner with design and IT teams to ensure applications align with Algo's infrastructure and security standards.
  • Break complex projects into manageable deliverables while balancing speed, quality, and long-term maintainability.

Qualifications

  • 4–5 years of experience in DevOps, cloud infrastructure, platform design, or application deployment.
  • Minimum 1 year of hands-on full-stack software development experience building and deploying web applications.
  • Experience supporting production cloud applications throughout their lifecycle.

Technical Skills

Strong experience with:

  • AWS (preferred) or another major cloud platform
  • Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar)
  • CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation
  • Docker, containers, and cloud-native application deployment
  • Monitoring, logging, backups, security, and incident response
  • Backend development using at least one modern programming language
  • Frontend and backend web application development
  • REST APIs, authentication, databases, and system integrations
  • Git, version control, code reviews, and software development best practices

You should be comfortable troubleshooting issues across the full technology stack—from user interface through backend services and cloud infrastructure.

AI-Assisted Development

AI-assisted software development is part of how we build software at Algo. We're looking for someone who is comfortable incorporating AI tools into their daily development workflow to improve productivity while maintaining high design standards.

Experience using tools such as Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, GitHub Copilot, or similar AI coding assistants to understand systems, generate and review code, create tests, troubleshoot issues, and maintain documentation is highly desirable.

Experience with specification-driven development, MCP servers, AI agent workflows, or similar emerging development practices is considered an asset.

Regardless of the tools used, you are responsible for ensuring all code and infrastructure changes are secure, thoroughly tested, maintainable, and production-ready.
