Environmental Lab Supervisor

We are seeking a highly skilled Chartered Chemist to lead our laboratory operations within the Industrial Waste Division. This is a working supervisor role and is ideal for a technically driven professional who thrives in a hands-on environment, ensuring the safe, compliant, and efficient processing of diverse waste streams.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise laboratory staff and oversee daily lab operations
• Maintain and calibrate laboratory equipment to ensure accuracy and reliability
• Verify and categorize waste stream characterization in compliance with Reg. 347
• Provide technical expertise to the sales team regarding waste treatment and disposal options
• Ensure quality control for all inbound and outbound waste streams
• Oversee waste processing activities including bulking, blending, and neutralization
• Amend manifests as required to reflect accurate waste characterization
• Source and negotiate optimal disposal solutions for various waste streams

Qualifications

• Degree in Chemistry (Chartered Chemist designation preferred) or Environmental Sciences with strong chemistry background
• Minimum 8 years of industry experience in laboratory or hazardous waste management
• Strong knowledge of chemistry and hazardous waste treatment processes
• Proven leadership skills with experience supervising technical staff

Compensation Information

The expected salary range for this position is $60,000 - $90,000 annually. Placement within the range is dependant on a variety of factors including qualifications and experience.
