Cloud Support Engineer – Join Canonical to support customers leveraging Ubuntu and open source products.

Location : This is a globally remote role unless specified otherwise.
The role entails
- Investigate issues reported by customers by researching and escalating issues
- Work to resolve complex customer problems related to Canonical’s portfolio of products
- Own support cases and ensure they are handled according to our Service Level Agreement (SLA) with the highest possible customer satisfaction
- Engage directly with customers by phone, ticketing system, and remote sessions to resolve their issues
- Participate in a regular weekend working rotation
- Contribute new knowledge base articles and maintain existing articles
- Understand the Ubuntu development process to set customer expectations correctly on a fix timeline
What we’re looking for
Professional written and spoken English with excellent presentation skillsExceptional academic track recordUndergraduate degree in a technical subject or a compelling narrative about an alternative pathTrack record of going above‑and‑beyond expectations to achieve outstanding resultsHands‑on experience supporting Linux systems (≥3 of : Virtualization / Cloud – KVM or OpenStack; Containers – Docker, LXD / LXC, or Kubernetes; Storage technologies; Networking)Cloud computing expertise in provisioning, monitoring, orchestration, etc.Advanced troubleshooting experience – Linux integration with other environments, stack trace analysis, and knowledge of OS / application bugsProgramming fundamentals in any languageExtensive customer support experience – customer needs are top priority; clear, empathetic communicationAbility to travel internationally twice a year for company events up to two weeks longWhat we offer
