Key Responsibilities :
- Perform mechanical / material properties characterization under ISO / ASTM standards. This includes but is not limited to powder testing, metallography, chemical analysis, physical, mechanical testing, and NDT.
- Support Burloak’s activities with regards to ISO and NADCAP accreditations for materials and mechanical testing lab
- Write, contribute to, and review specifications, control documents, reports, and standard operating procedures for materials development and mechanical testing.
- Support Burloak’s activities for research and development programs on materials and process development for additive manufacturing.
- It is imperative that the successful candidate can quickly learn technical procedures as they will be trained by the Burloak Engineering team on the specific equipment and standardized testing that is being performed.
- Any other tasks required by the manager.
Qualifications :
- High school or college technical degree
- Demonstrated computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (i.e. Word, Excel, etc.).
- Demonstrated ability to manage routine correspondence, multiple tasks / projects, diversified workload and rapidly changing priorities and challenging deadlines.
- 5+ years of experience working in an industrial laboratory
- Metals processing equipment and / or powder testing in an industrial environment is considered an asset.
- Demonstrated computer knowledge with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (i.e. Word, Excel, etc.).
- Demonstrated ability to manage routine correspondence, multiple tasks / projects, diversified workload and rapidly changing priorities and challenging deadlines.
- Performed mechanical / material properties characterization under ISO / ASTM standards. This includes but is not limited to powder testing, metallography, chemical analysis, physical and mechanical testing.
- Ability to multitask, teamwork and schedule management.
- Demonstrated strong written and oral communication skills; problem-solving / troubleshooting skills.
