Job Description

In this 9 month contract position, you’ll partner closely with the Manager, Financial Reporting and the broader Finance team to support essential accounting functions across both Home Office and Central Operations. By balancing accuracy and accountability with a strong service-focused mindset, you’ll help ensure smooth financial operations while building trusted relationships with employees, customers, and suppliers. Here are some of the other ways you’ll help us stand out:

• Support a high standard of service by processing vendor invoices and employee expense reimbursements with accuracy, care, and timely follow-up.
• Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors to respond to inquiries, resolve payment issues, and maintain positive working relationships.
• Verify invoice details and process payments in accordance with company policies, procedures, and financial controls.
• Audit employee expense claims to ensure appropriate documentation, approvals, and compliance with guidelines.
• Reconcile vendor statements, researching discrepancies and taking ownership of resolution.
• Prepare and process general ledger entries, ensuring accuracy and integrity of financial records.
• Contribute to month-end, quarter-end, and year-end activities, including support with financial statement review.
• Build a strong understanding of current processes and actively identify opportunities for improvement through automation, streamlining, or standardization.
• Support overall Finance team success by undertaking additional responsibilities as required.

Qualifications

• A genuine passion for delivering engaging and exceptional customer service.
• Post-secondary education in Business or Accounting, with a minimum of 2 years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Clear, professional communication skills and the ability to build trust through respectful, responsive interactions.
• A high level of integrity and a consistent commitment to policies, procedures, and established standards.
• A customer-focused mindset with an understanding of service expectations and deadlines.
• Strong computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook); experience with AccPac is considered an asset.
• Proven ability to manage time effectively, stay organized, prioritize work, and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
• The ability to work independently while contributing positively as part of a collaborative team.
• Retail experience is considered an asset.
• Thrive in a fast-paced setting that that involves extended periods of sitting, repetitive movement or tasks, frequent computer use that may cause eye strain, and working amid open-office noise and interruptions.
• Fluency in English; French language skills considered an asset.
