We are seeking a motivated Senior System Engineer to join the Lightspeed System Engineering team. This position will focus on System Simulation, Analysis, and Model‑Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) using Capella to support the development of system‑level performance and architecture for a next‑generation Low Earth Orbit (LEO) satellite constellation network. The successful candidate will work alongside experienced systems engineers to capture, model, and analyze system behaviors and interfaces, directly contributing to the definition of the space, ground, and operations segments. This is a hands‑on opportunity to gain exposure to satellite communications, MBSE practices, and end‑to‑end system design in a complex, multi‑disciplinary engineering environment.

Main Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain MBSE models in Capella, supporting the architecture of system‑level components, functional breakdowns, interfaces, data flows, and exchange scenarios.
• Assist in defining and documenting interfaces, use cases, and system behaviors within the system architecture.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams (RF, software, networking, platform engineering) to incorporate technical inputs into the MBSE model.
• Develop and maintain system simulations to predict and track system performance using tools such as MATLAB.
• Develop and maintain comprehensive system architecture documentation, including subsystems definitions, interfaces, and data flows, to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
• Participate in design reviews and working sessions, presenting model outputs and findings.

The successful candidate must be able to work in Canada and obtain clearance under the Canadian Controlled Goods program (CGP).
