Job Description
The Assistant Director of Resident Care (ADRC) assists the Director of Resident Care (DRC) in coordinating a high-quality nursing care service that complies with relevant government legislations, standards, policies and procedures, and reflects the organization's resident centred care approach, mission, vision, values, and strategic direction.
In addition, the ADRC, in collaboration with the DRC, develops the nursing departmental goals, assists with planning, organizing, and monitoring the departments activities to ensure high-quality of care and safety are in place for residents, family and staff.
The ADRC will also seek feedback and evaluation from peers, staff, residents, their families, caregivers to improve care initiatives / programs and will work with the nursing team and others to make those changes as necessary for quality improvement.
Qualifications
Registered Nurse with current Certificate of Competence from the College of Nurses of Ontario; Bachelor’s degree in Nursing;
or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Minimum 4 years nursing experience, including experience in Geriatrics, Rehabilitation and Long Term Care Nursing, and three years supervisory experience in hospital or long term care
- Current CPR Certificate (e., completed within one year period)
- Strong and effective leadership, supervisory, and presentation skills
- Exceptional analytical, problem solving and conflict resolution skills
- Dedication to quality care supported by data driven analytics
- Exceptional customer service skills
- Flexibility and adaptability to work in a fast paced changing environment
- Computer literacy required
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Ability to be on-call for emergencies or work related issues
- Excellent oral and written communication skills in English, and fluency in Cantonese / Mandarin and other languages is an asset
