Job Overview :

HVAC and Plumbing Estimator will be key to shaping successful projects! You'll play a vital role in evaluating project needs and crafting precise cost estimates for both installations, recommended repairs and preventative maintenance, ensuring our clients receive the best possible service.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Project Estimation :
  • Scrutinize project details to deliver accurate cost estimates for HVAC installations, ensuring clients receive competitive and transparent pricing.
  • Dive deep into technical documents to uncover project needs and potential savings, optimizing value without compromising quality.
  • Secure the best value for materials and services by sourcing competitive quotes from trusted suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Craft compelling bid proposals with clear cost breakdowns, showcasing our commitment to transparency and value.
  • Partner with project teams to refine scopes and optimize estimates, ensuring seamless project execution and client satisfaction.

2. Preventative Maintenance Estimation :

  • Thoroughly evaluate existing HVAC & Plumbing systems. Identify maintenance requirements and potential upgrades to craft precise cost estimates, ensuring clients receive optimal service.
  • Develop customized maintenance solutions. Design comprehensive plans and schedules tailored to each client's unique needs, detailing labor, materials, and service intervals to maximize system performance.
  • Empower clients with expert guidance. Proactively offer recommendations for maintenance strategies and system upgrades to boost efficiency, extend equipment lifespan, and reduce long-term costs.
  • Nurture lasting client partnerships. Foster open communication and actively seek feedback to ensure complete satisfaction, build trust, and understand evolving maintenance needs.

3. Client and Team Collaboration :

  • Build strong relationships with clients by fostering open communication. Proactively clarify project needs, address inquiries, and ensure their complete satisfaction throughout the estimation process.
  • Collaborate on winning proposals by providing technical insights and presenting compelling cost estimates.
  • Bridge the gap between estimation and execution. Collaborate closely with field technicians and project managers, ensuring estimates accurately reflect real-world project implementation and maintenance requirements.

4. Documentation and Reporting :

  • Maintain accurate records of estimates, proposals, and project documentation.
  • Track and analyze estimate accuracy and project costs to identify trends and improve future estimating practices.
  • Prepare regular reports on estimating performance and project outcomes for management review.

Qualifications :

  • Education : Field preferred; relevant certifications or trade school training is a plus.
  • Experience : Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as an HVAC Estimator, with a strong background in both project estimation and preventative maintenance.
  • Technical Skills : A deep understanding of HVAC and Plumbing systems, components, and local building codes and industry standards is essential for creating realistic and compliant estimates.

This knowledge helps in identifying all necessary work and ensuring that the project meets legal and safety standards, which is critical for both project approval and execution.

Proficiency in estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite.

Analytical Skills : Strong analytical skills to evaluate project requirements, interpret blueprints, and determine the scope of work accurately.

This ability ensures that estimates are precise and reflect the true costs and materials needed for a project, which helps in preventing cost overruns and ensuring project profitability

Communication : Effective communication with clients, contractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders is key to gathering accurate information and conveying the estimate clearly.

Strong communication skills help in building trust, clarifying project requirements, negotiating costs, and ensuring that all parties are on the same page.

Attention to Detail : Accuracy in estimating is crucial. Attention to detail ensures that no aspect of the project is overlooked, from the type and quantity of materials needed to labor and potential contingencies.

This thoroughness helps avoid unexpected expenses and ensures comprehensive project planning.

Team Player : Ability to work collaboratively with internal teams and clients to achieve project goals.
