Our client, regarded by many including ourselves, as the number one Mechanical Construction Contractors in Ontario. Is currently looking to add to their team due to pending retirement

The position they are looking to fill is a Mechanical Service Manager HVAC

They are always involved in a number of large scale complex construction projects with in ICI with an emphasis on Commercial, Hospitals, Educational, P & Institutional

The successful candidate must have the ability to develop solid relationships and effectively communicate with both internal and external clients to positively influence others and drive for results.

Experience in Service HVAC, Plumbing, Maintenance with component and unit knowledge, work orders, quotation tenders billing etc

You are comfortable working in a fast paced environment, can proactively multi-task and manage multiple priorities. You exhibit strong leadership skills and have the ability to take the lead on projects, make timely decisions to achieve desired results.

REQUIREMENTS :

As Mechanical Service Manager you will be asked to do the following :

  • Establish and achieve project targets and milestones to deliver mechanical construction / service projects on-time and within budget.
  • Provide active promotion and leadership in Health and Safety
  • Monitor and provide status updates of work in progress, forecasts, cost control and project schedule etc
  • Proactively identify and bring to management’s attention potential problems and / or schedule delays.
  • Follow up to ensure accurate project forecasting.
  • Monitor and analyze critical path activities and advise project team accordingly.
  • Review and manage short interval planning.
  • Follow up with site supervision on labour / manpower progress; identify and reduce roadblocks to success.
  • Manage project team to ensure requirements for document control, change order process, coordination of equipment and material deliveries, site meetings and progress documentation are adhered to.
  • Identify opportunities to provide project team members with regular feedback, coaching and training.
  • Build strong relationships with clients, GCs and Engineers to positively contribute to the success of the project.

QUALIFICATIONS :

You have Mechanical Engineering post-secondary education or related and a minimum of five years construction project management experience;

trade experience a definite asset.

  • Sheet Metal Qualification will also be considered.
