Steele Auto Group has an opening for a Part-Time Payroll Administrator to join our Head Office team in Dartmouth, NS! This opportunity offers a hybrid work model.
The Part-Time Payroll Administrator plays a pivotal role in our organization, responsible for full-cycle payroll processing, payroll compliance, and employee recordkeeping.
This position demands meticulous attention to detail, a strong grasp of payroll regulations, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced deadline-driven environment.
Hours : 8 : 30am to 5 : 00pm. Alternating weeks : Week 1, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday. Week 2, Monday, Wednesday.
Responsibilities include but not limited to :
- Manage payroll processing schedule and ensure deadlines are met
- Run payroll processing activities including new hires, terminations, timekeeping, and employee changes
- Reconcile payroll results and perform audit checks
- Follow proper procedures for payroll sign off / approval
- Run monthly / quarterly reports
- Conduct quarterly balancing of year end totals
- Update processing documentation as needed
- Act as day-to-day liaison with dealership designated contacts for payroll-related processing
- Timely review and resolution of issues
- Highlight and escalate relevant matters that may impact running the payrolls
- Process relevant tax forms for employees
- Maintain up to date knowledge and expertise in statutory legislation, and systems
- Process forms such as ROE, tax forms, remittances
- Keeping employee profile data up to date
Requirements :
- Post-Secondary education with a focus on accounting
- 1-3 years of previous experience as a Payroll Administrator or similar role
- PCP designation would be considered an asset
- Knowledge of MS Office, with an intermediate focus on Excel
- UKG experience would be considered an asset
- Knowledge of year-end processing required for all provinces
- Able to work under time constraints to ensure deadlines are met
