Job Description
Our client, a leader in paper manufacturing and packaging products is looking for an Industrial Electrician to join their Whitby team.
Responsibilities :
- Perform routine servicing, troubleshooting and repair of equipment and machinery to optimize safety and quality and increase production efficiencies
- Visually and physically inspect equipment and machinery; check for source of any problems that may occur from day to day
- Carry out PLC troubleshooting and programming changes as required
- Ensure safe operation of plant machinery and mechanical equipment completing preventive maintenance tasks as assigned
- Provide mechanical maintenance information answering questions and requests
- Keep all tools and equipment in a safe and operational manner
- Verify that any work performed is satisfactory and complete
- Work in a safe manner ensuring all safety procedures are followed. Ensure compliance with legislation and technical standards
- Follow all ISO procedures for maintenance
- Report any issues to supervisor or lead hand immediately
- Maintain safe and clean working environment by complying with health and safety and housekeeping practices, and use of personal protective equipment
- Comply with all rules and regulations of the Company
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements :
- A valid Industrial Electrician 442A license is a prerequisite
- Minimum 2 years of practical experience within a manufacturing or industrial environment is a requirement
- Strong electrical and PLC troubleshooting skill is a requirement with sound knowledge of technical standards and legislation
- Technical training in troubleshooting PLC programs considered an asset.
- Ability to work in rotating shifts and overtime as required
Requirements
Major Responsibilities : Safety Compliance : Understand, participate in, and support all safety programs and policies within the Milton manufacturing location.
Machinery Maintenance : Inspect, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain all production machinery, including high-speed packaging lines, conveyors, pumps, motors, kettles, and various other processing equipment.
Continuous Monitoring : Continually identify, report, and maintain equipment to ensure optimal performance. Continuous Improvement : Participate in initiatives to reduce equipment breakdowns and increase operating efficiency by investigating, recommending, and executing modifications.
Equipment Adjustment : Exercise judgment in making necessary adjustments on equipment to maintain safe operations and quality control standards.
Record Keeping : Keep accurate maintenance records and complete all work order paperwork in a timely manner. Collaboration with Engineering : Work closely with the Engineering department on machine modifications and the installation of new machinery and production systems.
Team Collaboration : Collaborate with colleagues to ensure high-quality product production while maintaining budgeted efficiencies.
Share best practices with other maintenance team members. Food Safety and Quality : Understand, participate in, and support all food safety and quality programs at the Milton site, ensuring all products meet GMP and food safety requirements.
Additional Duties : Perform all other duties as assigned by the supervisor. Qualifications - Must Haves : A college or trade school diploma / license for 433A Millwright.
Completion of a recognized apprenticeship and possession of a valid Millwright license or equivalent certification in a related mechanical trade.
