As a senior technical contributor within Nokia’s Optical Engineering Team focused on the next generation transponder / muxponder product family that is poised to transform how signals are transmitted across the network, you will work closely with global cross‑functional teams including HW, DSP, FW, and SW, to optimize performance of client and line side optics. You will support full integration of the line modules on various product platforms and assist product teams to drive product cost and performance.
Qualifications
- 3 - 5 years of engineering experience with PhDin Optical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Applied Physics, or related majors
- More than 5 years of engineering experience with MS Degreein Optical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Applied Physics, or related majors
- Must have 3 or more years of recentexperiencein Coherent Optical Communication (Transceivers / Transponders)
- Experience integrating various adjacent disciplines for product development, including calibration automation, test automation, electrical, FPGA, FW, SW
- Deep technical competency in Coherent Optical Communication technology, Digital Signal Processing, and high-speed optical signal generation and detection
- Strong Phyton programming skills
- Familiarity with standard industry design validation processes and product life cycle
- Familiarity with optical communication systems andlinear and nonlinear impairments and tradeoff, such as crosstalk, OSNR, chromatic dispersion, PMD, SPM, XPM, FWM, etc.
- Must be willing to work in the office 5 days a week
- Ability to work under pressure and tight deadlines
- Highly organized with strong attention to details
