Summary
We are currently recruiting internally for a Safety Relief Valve Field Service Technician . The successful candidate will be tasked with supporting our customers onsite (throughout Western Canada) as required, and in the shop (when not in the field) with Pressure Relief Valve Insitu and shop business.
The successful candidate can live remotely or Edmonton and will report to the Manager, Production & Service Protection in Edmonton.
Role and Responsibilities
- Provide on demand field service support to our customer base
- PRV onsite unit operations
- Insitu testing and servicing of relief valves (use of assisted lift device and inline machining equipment)
- Involvement in all aspects of the service / sales cycle as required. Provide assistance with scheduling and scope to the service and management teams.
- Telephone customer support on valve service requests and troubleshooting
- In house service & production work when not in the field
- Requires interprovincial travel
- Interfacing with Internal and external customers
- Short term availability for last minute requests for site work
Qualifications and Skills
- Pressure Relief Valve Experience Required
- 3+ years related industry experience. Working and interfacing with customers onsite, both with insitu and mobile service trailer scope
- Entrepreneurial work ethic
- Time management skill
- Strong problem-solving ability
- Detail oriented with a focus on safety and quality
- Proven customer service habits and practices
- Self-directed and able to work independently as well as with a team
- Pressure relief valve troubleshooting knowledge and ability to operate mobile onsite units
- Federal courier designation considered an asset
- Able to produce quality documentation in a timely and accurate manner
- Physical requirements : able to drive long distances and ability to lift a min. of 35 lbs.
- Valid Alberta Class 5 driver's license, safe driving record and willing to travel. Extended periods away from Spartan Edmonton may be required.
- This position has been deemed as Safety Sensitive successful candidates will be required to pass a pre-employment Alcohol and Drug test, as well as frequent pre-access testing to access Customer sites.
The training provided for this opportunity will consist of formal training, mentoring, and partnering with other experienced Field Service Technicians.
