Job Title : Electrical Technician

The Electrician Technician will work on installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems and equipment in an industrial environment. Under the supervision of senior electricians, the Electrician Technician will ensure that electrical systems are functioning efficiently, safely, and in compliance with all relevant regulations and standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Installation of electrical systems, equipment, and wiring according to blueprints, technical specifications, and safety standards.
- Maintenance and Repairs : troubleshoot, repair, and maintain electrical systems, machinery, and components to ensure reliable operation.
- Routine Inspections : perform inspections to identify potential issues and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
- Troubleshooting : diagnose electrical faults and assist in repairs or system upgrades in collaboration with senior electricians.
- System Testing : conduct tests on electrical systems, machinery, and equipment to verify functionality, accuracy, and safety.
- Safety Compliance : follow company safety guidelines, protocols, and Ontario regulations while working on electrical systems or performing maintenance.
- Documentation : keep accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and parts used, ensuring compliance with electrical codes and standards.
- Equipment Handling : use and maintain tools, machines, and equipment in accordance with safety and operational guidelines.
- Collaboration : work closely with maintenance personnel, engineers, and supervisors to ensure smooth operation of electrical systems within the plant or facility.
- Learning and Development : continuously improve electrical knowledge and skills, staying updated on industry best practices and new technologies.
Required Qualifications
Education : High school diploma or equivalent. An completed electrical apprenticeship program or enrollment in a recognized electrician training program is preferred.Experience : industrial control systems, motors, VFDs, and basic PLC troubleshooting experience.Certifications : electrical certification, basic understanding of electrical safety codes and practices.Skills :
Basic understanding of electrical systems and their components.Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment used in electrical work.Ability to interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and electrical codes.Strong problem‑solving skills and attention to detail.Ability to work in a fast‑paced and physically demanding environment.Good communication skills and ability to collaborate with others.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Preferred Qualifications
Practical experience working with electrical systems in an industrial or manufacturing setting.Knowledge of PLC systems, motor control circuits, and industrial automation is a plus.Physical Requirements : ability to lift and carry heavy equipment and tools, and work in confined spaces or at heights.Working Conditions
Environment : industrial setting, exposure to machinery and electrical equipment.Physical Demands : standing, walking, bending, and lifting heavy objects.
