School Safe is North America's pioneer brand and market leader in allergen sensitive kids snacks. All of our snacks are developed for those that matter most Kids! All of our products are Peanut-free, Tree-nut free and dairy free with a focus on wholesome nutritionally balanced food.
While kids are a focus and our primary consumer of School Safe snacks, we have recently launched a new brand called the School Safe Safe Snacking Company that has healthy snacks for the whole family.
Our products are found across Canada and the United States and we are expanding rapidly as both new and existing customers demand healthier, school safe products in the bakery section of their local grocery store.

About the Role
We are looking for an experienced and dedicated Maintenance Electrician, who can perform the below requirements :
- Provide guidance and support to Maintenance & Production, R&D, Quality Assurance and Operations for product / process development
- Responsible for effective troubleshooting, repair, installation, and preventative maintenance
- Proactively detect potential problems and recommend the necessary repair or maintenance
- Must be part of team, a hands on' approach with equipment
- Work with production to ensure clear SOPs / instructions are provided for all equipment
- Ensure safe plant operations
Requirements
- Industrial Mechanic (Millwright) 433A license is required
- Valid 442A Ontario Industrial Electrician trade license an asset
- 5 years of industrial food equipment experience is required (e.g. flow wrappers, or relevant experience in a repetitive / fast-paced environment)
- Knowledge of robots, conveyors, high speed packaging equipment, and electrical / electronic controls
- 5 years of experience conducting predictive and preventative maintenance procedures
- Experience troubleshooting with PLC's
- Must have knowledge of working on Auto Cad or similar software program to maintain and edit existing engineering drawings as required from time to time
- Computer skills required for Microsoft Office
- Must have strong leadership skills and passionate about quality and food safety
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Strong problem-solving skills and highly organized
- Works well under pressure
- Preference will be given to candidates with Lean Six Sigma
- Forklift license and experience is considered an asset
