Location :  Athletics Canada National Office (Ottawa)

Reports to :  Director, Operations

Classification : Full-Time

Remuneration : $45, – $50, commensurate on experience

Overview

Athletics Canada is the national sport organization for track and field, cross county, road, mountain, ultra and trail running. Its purpose is to support high performance athletics excellence at the domestic and international level and to provide leadership in developmental athletics in partnership with its provincial / territorial branch partners. Athletics Canada is a not-for-profit, charitable organization operating under a Board of Directors elected by provincial / territorial members.

Reporting to the Director, Operations, the Coordinator, Operations will oversee aspects of shop.athletics.ca and Athletics Canada merchandise. The role will coordinate retail operations including inventory, marketing, promotions and on-site event work. In addition, the role will provide support to the Manager, IT and Membership Services.

General Responsibilities

Operational support of shop.athletics.ca

  • Liaise with Accent Logos on shop.athletics.ca regarding inventory, product delivery, fulfillment and promotions
  • Manage shop.athletics.ca web and email inbox
  • Coordinate new product launches, including but not limited to product descriptions, photo editing, and tags for SEO
  • Create and launch sales, promotions and other seasonal marketing initiatives
  • Address general customer inquiries received by phone and / or email.

Athletics Canada Merchandise

  • Assist with marketing and promotional plans
  • Travel to National Championships and partner events (1-4 days)
  • Manage on-site pop-up shop including inventory, on-site sales, volunteer management and POS
  • IT and Membership Services Support

  • Provide administrative and operational support to Manager, IT and Membership Services on specific projects
  • Assist with weekly results processing and inputting
  • Assist with record updates
  • Assist with submission of results to World Athletics and World Para Athletics
  • Other duties may be assigned by the Director, Operations from time to time.

    Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of work experience in merchandise, marketing or operations
  • Working knowledge of Shopify – specifically adding products, reports, and website updates is considered an asset
  • Experience or history with track and field, knowledge of the sport and technical rules
  • Must have full driver’s license
  • Customer Service focused
  • Highly organized with great attention to detail
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office
  • Ability to work independently
  • Bilingualism considered an asset
  • Work Location

    Must be located within the greater Ottawa region. The successful candidate will be required to work onsite at the National Office and expected at the merchandise warehouse at least 2 days a week.

    Compensation

    45, – $50, commensurate on experience
