Electromechanical Assembler

As part of ORBCOMM’s Engineering team, reporting to the Director of NPI and PCB Design, you’ll play a hands‑on role in bringing innovative IoT hardware to life. You’ll work closely with engineering partners, contribute directly to product quality and reliability, and provide valuable manufacturing feedback that influences design improvements.

This role offers the opportunity to apply your technical skills in electromechanical assembly, collaborate cross‑functionally, and continuously develop your expertise in advanced assembly, SMT rework, and IPC standards—all while supporting products deployed globally.

This is a fully onsite position based at our Ottawa, Ontario office.

What You’ll Do

• Assemble mechanical and electrical components using hand tools, power tools, and specialized equipment.
• Read and interpret assembly drawings, wiring diagrams, and written work instructions.
• Perform soldering, crimping, and wire routing tasks.
• Inspect and test completed assemblies for functionality and quality.
• Identify and report any defects or issues during the assembly process and provide lessons learned engineering feedback.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to resolve technical issues.
• Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Able to effectively multi‑task and accurately track progress.
