Job Overview : The Custodian / Handyperson role is comprised of 90% custodian duties and 10% maintenance duties. The duties include but are not limited to minor repairs, groundskeeping, and maintaining common areas and washrooms.
- Responsibilities : Clean offices, auditoriums, classrooms, washrooms, kitchenettes, dining areas, halls, entrances / exits, reception areas, and more;
- Ensure proper sanitation & disinfection procedures are followed; Replenish supplies as needed; Ensure garbage disposal in proper bins;
- Clean all dry & wet spills throughout the facility as required; Maintain & secure storage areas, cleaning equipment & materials in an orderly manner;
- Report equipment repairs and stock shortages; Perform and / or report minor maintenance repairs; Report damage & acts of vandalism;
- Lawn Mowing, trimming, and grounds cleaning; Other duties as assigned. Skills Required : Knowledge of standard cleaning procedures, chemicals, products, and equipment;
- Knowledge of Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System; Good understanding of the Occupational Health and Safety Act;
- Ability to read & understand labels & instructions; Excellent customer service and listening skills; Must be able to use job-related tools and equipment with ease;
- Good written and verbal communication skills; Ability to effectively analyze, plan, organize, prioritize, and meet deadlines;
- Previous related experience considered an asset; Trades-related ticket / education considered an asset. Education & Experience : Must have reliable transportation to worksite;
