The Manager, Marketing Operations will oversee the department’s planning and execution of marketing and communications projects, and manage the marketing team and departmental resources.
From customer communications to marketing campaigns, direct mail to digital experiences, you will manage workflows and provide operational oversight to ensure marketing initiatives are delivered on time and with the customer experience at the forefront.
Using a strategic approach to content marketing, this role ensures that marketing operations are aligned with business goals, using governance, resource management, and process optimization to deliver successful projects and services.
As a skilled people person with breadth of current marketing and communications knowledge, you will collaborate with cross functional teams while leading the marketing and communications team, ensuring the department creates and distributes high-quality content with impactful, measurable results.
This is a hybrid role with three days or more in-office per week.
Duties and Responsibilities :
Project Governance and Operations Management
- Maintain a high standard for the development and execution of high quality, high impact marketing and communications content delivered through paid, earned, shared and owned channels
- Maintain a project governance structure to ensure projects run smoothly, within scope, and on time
- Implement and manage a centralized tracking tool to provide regular project updates and reports to stakeholders
Strategic Planning and Performance
- Develop and maintain a framework for project selection, prioritization, and performance monitoring, ensuring alignment with business objectives
- Regularly evaluate project performance, report on results, and leverage insights to contribute to marketing strategy discussions
- Manage internal and external marketing resources, ensuring capacity is aligned with project demand
Collaboration and Communication
- Ensure seamless project progression by facilitating clear communication between team members and involving relevant stakeholders at the right stages
- Promote collaboration across departments, ensuring marketing operations are integrated with broader business functions
Process Streamlining and Automation
- Lead the optimization of marketing operations by refining workflows, automating processes, and implementing standardized templates to improve efficiency
- Foster an environment of continuous improvement by identifying and addressing bottlenecks in operational processes
Content Marketing
- Guide the development of content marketing plans, ensuring they support marketing campaigns and align with target audiences
- Collaborate with content contributors to develop content and campaigns, and oversee distribution plans
Innovation and Continuous Improvement
- Encourage creative thinking within the marketing team, driving innovation in project delivery, cross-functional collaboration, and marketing operations
- Stay current with the latest marketing technologies and trends, applying best practices to enhance operational performance and content delivery
Qualifications :
Specialized Knowledge and Skills
- Expertise in project management methodologies and marketing operations
- Strong understanding of content marketing principles, with the ability to balance both content creation and operational excellence
- Proficiency in marketing platforms, marketing automation tools, and project management software
- Proficiency in communicating in both French and English is a significant asset
- Marketing experience within insurance, group benefits, or financial fields is a significant asset
Experience and Abilities
- 7+ years marketing experience with 3 + years managing people
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, while ensuring alignment with business objectives and resource availability
- Excellent leadership and communication skills, with experience facilitating collaboration across teams and managing internal and external resources
- Demonstrated experience in the creative development of marketing and communications materials including traditional and digital media
- Strong problem-solving skills and a continuous improvement mindset
- Familiarity with managing marketing budgets, forecasting resources, and optimizing workflows using marketing technologies and tools
