The Role
Our team in Waterloo is excited for a Junior / Intermediate Real Estate Appraiser to join our Waterloo office. This position will report directly to the Managing Partner and is a full time, permanent role.
We are looking for a smart and ambitious individual, preferably with 1-3 years’ experience in real estate appraisal or a closely related field (Property Management or Development, Land Use Planning, banking, real estate sales or a closely related field).
For the right candidate we will consider individuals with less experience.

Tasks involved :
- Preparation of appraisal reports relying on the latest market information obtained from various internal / external sources
- Develop cash flow projections to be used in the appraisal process, primarily using Excel
- Conduct research and collect data from both internal database and third-party sources with respect to market rental rates and comparable building transactions.
- Perform property and building inspections along with senior staff.
- Ensure data collected as part of ongoing assignments is researched thoroughly.
- Maintain and update real estate market statistics and sales transactions.
- Continuously upgrade the level of knowledge of market and industry trends.
Qualifications :
- University degree in a related discipline (Business, Geography, Urban Development, Planning, etc.)
- Eligible to become (or already enrolled as) Candidate Member with the Appraisal Institute of Canada.
- Maintain Candidate status in good standing
- Meet the minimum annual educational requirements as required AIC (course fees included in compensation)
- Related work experience required
- Good research, quantitative and analytical skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite – particularly Word and Excel
- Good communication skills – interpersonal, report writing
- Strong attention to detail is required and will be the measurement of success
- Ability to work in a team and independently
- Ability to take initiative and be resourceful
- Ability to multi-task and meet tight deadlines
- Self-motivated with a high degree of integrity, honesty and ethics
- Willingness to travel locally - Valid driver’s license.
