THE JOB
As Platform Engineer focusing on data-platform at Universe, you will apply your passion for technology and live events in our quest to build a world-class Event Ticketing platform.
In this deeply technical and business-minded position, you will report directly to the Senior Data Engineer, and help push forward development of our data-platform operations.
You’ll be challenged with technically rewarding tasks such as expanding our usage of Kubernetes, training our colleges on the use of cloud-native technologies, and implementing and monitoring components of our new data platform!
WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING
Maintaining our Kubernetes-based environment infrastructure
Improving our security posture through hardening and education
Improving our data-platform metrics and dashboards
Working with data-platform engineering to optimize contributions from the wider engineering organization.
WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW (or TECHNICAL SKILLS)
Experience with streaming technologies like Apache Kafka, Apache Flink, and Debezium
Experience with Kubernetes and Docker
Experience with DevOps methodologies
Experience with Python, Go or Java
Experience with databases like PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and Clickhouse
