PURCHASING MANAGER

Industrial Commercial Supplies, a company of J.D. Irving, Limited, is dedicated to serving Atlantic Canadian commercial contractors with our specialty commercial products.

ICS has three locations across Atlantic Canada - Moncton, NB, Lower Sackville, NS and Mount Pearl, NL, allowing commercial contractors to experience products and services catered to their unique business.

The ICS team and our tailored product assortment strive to provide excellent service for all commercial needs.

ICS is currently seeking a Purchasing Manager to join our Head Office team. The key responsibilities of the Purchasing Manager include :

• Work to identify and setup deals with new vendors for specific commercial opportunities
• Work closely with the sales team to facilitate fulfillment of customer special order requirements.
• Develop group budgets and strategies to achieve set numbers through the execution of class-specific business plans
• Analyze and interpret sales data, identify trends, and draft effective sales strategies in line with business plans
• Assist in negotiations and provide direction on vendor agreements and cost of programs as well as products
• Negotiate terms for major purchases within established limits of authority
• Select and manage relationships with major suppliers, vendors, or sub-contractors to ensure business standards of service are met

Qualifications :

• Completion of post-secondary education in Business, or a related field
• Minimum 5 years of related experience, industry experience would be considered an asset
• Strong leadership, collaboration, and problem solving skills
• Demonstrated negotiation skills
• Strong knowledge of products within all categories in the industry
• Detail oriented and strategic thinker
• Ability to work collaboratively & independently
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Effective reporting and presentation skills
• Understanding of financial calculations
• Enthusiastic and proactive team player
