Compensation : $80000.00 to $85000.00 yearly

Robert Half is looking to staff a Payroll Manager to join our well respected client located in the Ottawa-South region. This is a full-time permanent role working on site. There is no opportunity of working from home.

Responsibilities :

  • Process weekly union payroll
  • Process semi-monthly salaried payroll
  • Preparing reports by compiling summaries of company earnings, taxes, deductions, leave, disability payments, and non-taxable wages
  • Preparing year-end employee tax slips or forms and submitting government filings to meet deadlines
  • Oversight of payroll departmental staff
  • Oversight of payroll remittances filings (EHT, WSIB, WCB, Source Deductions, ROE’s)
  • Ensuring timely Filing of multiple monthly union reports, for multiple locals
  • Correspondence with union representatives, CRA, and employees, company area managers as required
  • Preparation, reconciliation of T4’s at year-end
  • Ensuring accurate employee file information (new and old)

    • Job Requirements : Qualifications :

  • Must have a reliable vehicle
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Human Resources or related field
  • Professional Payroll designation (PCP, CPM) is preferred
  • 2+ years of proven leadership experience as a payroll manager or similar role
  • 5+ years of payroll experience
  • Great written, verbal, and interpersonal skills
  • Superb understanding of multi-provincial payroll and taxes
  • Current knowledge of payroll procedures and related laws
  • Organizational and leadership skills
  • Skilled in handling confidential business matters and information with discretion
