Robert Half is looking to staff a Payroll Manager to join our well respected client located in the Ottawa-South region. This is a full-time permanent role working on site.
There is no opportunity of working from home.

Responsibilities :
- Process weekly union payroll
- Process semi-monthly salaried payroll
- Preparing reports by compiling summaries of company earnings, taxes, deductions, leave, disability payments, and non-taxable wages
- Preparing year-end employee tax slips or forms and submitting government filings to meet deadlines
- Oversight of payroll departmental staff
- Oversight of payroll remittances filings (EHT, WSIB, WCB, Source Deductions, ROE’s)
- Ensuring timely Filing of multiple monthly union reports, for multiple locals
- Correspondence with union representatives, CRA, and employees, company area managers as required
- Preparation, reconciliation of T4’s at year-end
- Ensuring accurate employee file information (new and old)

Qualifications :
- Must have a reliable vehicle
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Human Resources or related field
- Professional Payroll designation (PCP, CPM) is preferred
- 2+ years of proven leadership experience as a payroll manager or similar role
- 5+ years of payroll experience
- Great written, verbal, and interpersonal skills
- Superb understanding of multi-provincial payroll and taxes
- Current knowledge of payroll procedures and related laws
- Organizational and leadership skills
- Skilled in handling confidential business matters and information with discretion
