Compensation: $80000.00 to $85000.00 yearly

Robert Half is looking to staff a Payroll Manager to join our well respected client located in the Ottawa-South region. This is a full-time permanent role working on site. There is no opportunity of working from home.

Responsibilities:

-Process weekly union payroll

-Process semi-monthly salaried payroll

-Preparing reports by compiling summaries of company earnings, taxes, deductions, leave, disability payments, and non-taxable wages

-Preparing year-end employee tax slips or forms and submitting government filings to meet deadlines

-Oversight of payroll departmental staff

-Oversight of payroll remittances filings (EHT, WSIB, WCB, Source Deductions, ROE’s)

-Ensuring timely Filing of multiple monthly union reports, for multiple locals

-Correspondence with union representatives, CRA, and employees, company area managers as required

-Preparation, reconciliation of T4’s at year-end

-Ensuring accurate employee file information (new and old)

Job Requirements:

Qualifications:

-Must have a reliable vehicle

-Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Human Resources or related field

-Professional Payroll designation (PCP, CPM) is preferred

-2+ years of proven leadership experience as a payroll manager or similar role

-5+ years of payroll experience

-Great written, verbal, and interpersonal skills

-Superb understanding of multi-provincial payroll and taxes

-Current knowledge of payroll procedures and related laws

-Organizational and leadership skills

-Skilled in handling confidential business matters and information with discretion
