JSI is seeking an energetic, self-starter to fill a position as Assistant Controller to report to the Controller. The successful candidate will be a well-rounded finance professional with experience or exposure to all facets of the controllership functions, A / P, A / R, revenue recognition, financial statement preparation and payroll. They will perform the following :

Finance

• Prepare monthly financial statements including :

Updating and reviewing monthly continuity schedules.

To ensure revenue and expenses related to shipments are recorded in the proper period against the proper revenue stream(s).

Provide guidance to AP and AR staff to help ensure they meet their targets.

Payroll

Logistics

You will be required to learn specific logistics skills if you do not already possess them as a backup to Logistics Analyst :

Qualifications

Have at least 5 years’ combined experience working in similar roles.

Have obtained or is in the process of attaining an accounting designation.

Have strong inter-personal and organization skills.

Be able to thrive while working under tight deadlines and are capable of adjusting to changing requirements etc.

Have a high level of proficiency with tools such as MS Excel, Adobe PDF etc.

Experience working in an ERP program.

Experience or exposure to ERP or other system transformations an asset.

The successful candidate will be required to obtain a government security clearance.

How We Work

You will be expected to work in a remote / hybrid environment reporting to our Kanata, Ontario location 2 or more times per week.
