Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or equivalent field, or commensurate work experience and knowledge
  • Experience in the Software design / architecture process
  • Experience developing web, software, or mobile applications
  • Heavier focus on Front End Experience (React, Javascript)
  • Back End Experience (,
  • Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment, Kubernetes
  • Strong experience with HTML and CSS
  • Experience with the entire Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
  • Experience with web services (consuming or creating) with REST or SOAP
  • Demonstrated ability to explain complex technical issues to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Strong understanding of the Software design / architecture process
  • Experience with unit testing & Test Driven Development (TDD)

Preferred Experience :

  • Experience developing, maintaining, and innovating large scale, consumer facing web or mobile applications
  • Experience with AWS Lightsail, Akamai
  • Familiar with the development challenges inherent with highly scalable and available web applications
  • Always Be Learning : Experience with open source technologies (if no practical work experience w / Big Data, or cutting edge front-end technology you’re prototyping and / or researching the up and coming technology and solutions

Responsibilities

  • You take pride in creating Front End magic
  • Build the effective internal and external relationships that are essential to delivering awesome software
  • Deep customer empathy and ability to quickly translate insights into mockups, wireframes, and working proof-of-concept code
  • Leading the gathering of functional requirements, developing technical specifications, and project & test planning
  • Acting as the technical subject matter expert : Mentoring fellow engineers, demonstrating technical expertise, and leading a small team solving challenging programming and design problems
  • Roughly 80-100% hands-on coding
  • Generate technical documentation and PowerPoint presentations to communicate architectural and design options, and educate development teams and business users
  • Experience with Agile Development, SCRUM, or Extreme Programming methodologies
