Concrete Pump Operator (Cavanagh Concrete)

We are seeking a replacement pump operator for our forming division. This individual is responsible for the safe, accurate, and efficient operation of concrete pumping equipment on residential and commercial construction sites. This includes performing daily inspections, setting up and operating pumps, maintaining equipment, communicating with jobsite personnel, and ensuring all safety protocols are followed. The role requires strong attention to detail, physical stamina, and consistent situational awareness while working around other trades.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Drive the concrete pump to job sites and set up equipment including booms, hoses, and outriggers
• Operate the pump remotely and control concrete flow for accurate and precise placement
• Perform pre-trip and on-site inspections to assess hazards and ensure safe setup
• Wear all required personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times
• Conduct daily equipment checks and clean the pump thoroughly after each use to prevent clogs
• Perform minor maintenance and repairs as needed and keep the unit clean and organized
• Complete all required inspection reports, maintenance logs, work orders, and timecards
• Communicate effectively with site supervisors, territory managers, concrete truck drivers, and construction crews
• Support smooth and efficient pours through proactive coordination and clear communication
• Assist with additional physical tasks when not actively pumping, such as moving hoses and pipes

Experience and Qualifications

• Valid Commercial Driver’s License with clean abstract
• Experience in construction and operating high-pressure or articulating boom pumps
• Knowledge of concrete mixes
• Strong understanding of safety protocols and regulations
• Physical stamina for demanding tasks
• Ability to troubleshooting any issues
• Excellent communication skills and positive attitude
• Ability to work at multiple locations daily on active construction sites
• Ability to work Irregular hours

Wage Range:

The hourly range for this position in Ontario at the start of employment is expected to be between $34.00 and $38.00 per hour. However, the range offered is based on local job market factors and may vary further depending on factors specific to the selected job candidate, such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations.
