QM Environmental is seeking an experienced and driven Project Manager specializing in Climate Resiliency to lead innovative environmental projects within our Ontario operations.

Based in Burlington, ON, this role will oversee the planning, execution, and successful completion of climate resiliency projects, including flood protection, creek and river realignment, water treatment, erosion control, habitat restoration, and more.

Reporting to the VP of Special Projects & New Markets, you will manage project resources, cultivate client relationships, ensure the highest health and safety standards, and contribute to QM Environmental’s mission of providing practical and sustainable solutions to Canada’s most complex environmental challenges.

LIVE : What You will Do

  • Manage all phases of climate resiliency projects, ensuring timely completion within budget while meeting or exceeding financial targets.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships, communicate project milestones, and ensure project outcomes align with client expectations.
  • Supervise on-site teams and allocate human and capital resources effectively to achieve project goals, maintaining adherence to QM’s Health and Safety standards.
  • Plan, schedule, and prepare for upcoming work, adapting to evolving site conditions and optimizing project flow.
  • Track and enhance job profitability, manage project budgets, approve time and hours, and handle change orders to ensure financial objectives are met.
  • Oversee project documentation, official communications, and compliance with regulatory and contract requirements.
  • Work with stakeholders to identify business development opportunities, manage existing client relationships, and actively contribute to project bids and proposals.

Projects : What will you take on?

As the Climate Resiliency Project Manager you will have specific responsibility for managing construction projects involving flood protection landforms, creek and river re-alignment, water management including treatment and bypass, sediment removal, erosion control features, habitat features, aquatic and riparian habitat construction, shoreline and bank stabilization, supporting civil infrastructure, engineered slope stabilization system, invasive species removal, topsoil & seeding, and various types of terrestrial and aquatic planting.

WIN : What you bring to the table.

  • Minimum of 5 years of project management experience within environmental or ecological projects, specifically in areas like landscaping, plantings, water management, civil construction, and resource allocation.
  • Bachelor’s degree in earth sciences, engineering, or a related field preferred. Certification as a Certified Engineering Technologist (CET) or Professional Engineer (P.Eng) is an asset.
  • Proven ability to manage contracts, change orders, and project documentation, with a strong understanding of prime contracts, subcontracts, and site-based project management.
  • Effective leadership skills with a talent for guiding site teams and subcontractors. Ability to analyze complex site conditions, troubleshoot issues, and implement solutions with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively manage client relationships and negotiate contract changes as needed.
