JOB SUMMARY
The Maintenance Coordinator plays a crucial role in ensuring the optimal performance and upkeep of our fleet. This position involves a diverse range of responsibilities, including monitoring fleet status, generating reports, scheduling maintenance, and maintaining comprehensive records.
Key duties encompass overseeing fleet-related maintenance tasks such as tracking DVIRs and service intervals for all trucks and trailers, coordinating repairs, and managing maintenance activities.
The Maintenance Coordinator is also responsible for monitoring costs and ensuring that all equipment meets the operational needs of our terminals.
Serving as the vital link between dispatch, drivers, and shops across all our terminals, the Maintenance Coordinator ensures seamless communication and efficient maintenance operations.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Working with all terminals, the Edmonton shop, Lead Hands, and dispatch group
- Upkeep of unit information records (make / model / CVIP / VKIP-UC / Meter Calibration / standard component list)
- Upkeep of unit maintenance records (paper and digital)
- Assist with weekly KPI reports.
- Monitoring, reporting, and planning all required inspection expiries (CVIP / VKIP-UC / Meter Calibration)
- Coordinate with Operations and Shop to project scheduling of all required inspections
- Monitoring unit hours of service and scheduling Preventative Maintenance
- Coordinate upcoming unit Preventative Maintenance with Operations and Shop
- Work with outside vendors to schedule equipment into various shops and ensure that timelines are met.
- Audit the quality of work completed by outside shops and make recommendations to the management group.
- Daily monitoring and reporting of equipment status (out of service, in repair, estimated downtime, readiness update)
- Daily monitoring of DVIR defects reported (and providing summary reports)
- Coordinate with Operations and Shop to schedule DVIR defect repairs
- Update resolved defects on Samsara DVIR reports.
- Review and audit service tickets to ensure that work assigned is completed in a timely fashion.
- Prioritize and schedule work in the shop based on availability and requirements.
- Work with management to identify shortfalls and improve efficiency within the shop.
- Other related duties as required or assigned.
OTHER KEY SKILLS (or product knowledge)
- Advanced knowledge of MS Excel and e-mail required.
- Be mechanically inclined.
- Professional written and verbal communication skills
EXPEREINCE
2+ years’ experience working as a mechanic, dispatcher or related field
Transportation industry knowledge and experience an asset
Must have a valid driver’s license and clean driver’s abstract
EDUCATION
High School Diploma or GED required
