About The Opportunity
Wind River Systems is building Wind River Studio for Operators, delivering an integrated cloud platform, unifying infrastructure, orchestration, and analytics capabilities so operators can deploy and manage their intelligent 5G edge networks globally. Wind River Systems is seeking an experienced, high‑performing Senior Engineer Software Engineer developing distributed cloud‑based orchestration and automation platform solutions for the intelligent edge.
Primary Responsibilities
- Design and implement automated test suites for cloud infrastructure components
- Use open‑source test tools such as PyTest, Robot Framework, and Selenium
- Apply Test‑Driven Development (TDD) principles to validate code early and often
- Collaborate with developers to define testable requirements and edge cases
- Investigate and resolve issues during product verification and customer integration
- Maintain test environments using Kubernetes, Helm, and Docker
- Utilize Linux and shell scripting for automation and diagnostics
- Stay current with OpenStack advancements and incorporate them into testing strategies
- Participate in agile development processes, with the ability to shift between testing, development, and automation roles as needed
- Work with open‑source software responsibly, including understanding licensing models and managing CVEs
- Contribute to CI / CD pipelines and fault‑tolerant testing strategies
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science or related field3+ years of professional experience in test engineering or QA automation1+ years of scripting experience with PythonExperience with Linux systems and shell scriptingExcellent analytical, debugging, and communication skillsStrong sense of ownership, urgency, and driveTrack record of maintaining high‑quality standards in production environmentsExperience testing infrastructure software for scalable, distributed systems2+ years professional experience testing and deploying software utilizing Kubernetes, Docker, and HelmDesirable Qualifications
Deep understanding of OpenStack architecture (Nova, Neutron, Cinder, Keystone)Contributions to OpenStack or other open‑source communitiesFamiliarity with RabbitMQ, PostgreSQL, YAML, and TOSCAExperience managing open‑source licensing and CVE remediationCI / CD automation experience using Jenkins for building, deploying, and testing container‑based applications2+ years experience working as part of cross‑functional Agile SCRUM teamsProfessional experience working as part of globally dispersed engineering teamsOur Commitment to Diversity
