Electronic Technologist
Position Overview
Maintains and repairs all hospital electronic equipment, instruments and systems such as : Communication equipment. Business equipment.
Medical electronic instruments and equipment. Industrial electronic controls. Building management control systems. Building security systems.
- Records data regarding assigned service and repairs in accordance with established procedures.
- Actively participates in the Department’s Continuous Quality Improvement activities / programs (e.g. preventive maintenance, fire and safety programs).
- Performs all duties as assigned in the event of an emergency.
- Performs other duties as required.
Experience
A knowledge of, and experience in, the areas of medical electronics, solid state systems, instrumentation and data processing equipment.
Education (Degree / Diploma / Certificate)

Certification / Licensure / Registration
Certified Electronic Technologist (M.A.N.C.E.T.).
Qualifications and Skills
Electronic equipment is efficiently maintained and repaired in accordance with appropriate standards (C.S.A., E.C.R.1.
and U.L.C. manufacturers).
- Assigned duties are performed with minimal supervision.
- Assigned duties are performed in accordance with the preventive maintenance program.
- All fire and safety rules and regulations are observed in the performance of duties.
- Pertinent data regarding assigned service and repairs are accurately recorded.
- Effective communication skills and interpersonal relationships are maintained within the Department and with other Hospital personnel.
- Confidentiality is maintained in all matters pertaining to the Hospital, and patients and their families. (PHIA / FIPPA).
