Job summary

The Specialist, Digital Content is a key member of the digital team. Having a deep understanding of digital content design best practices, you will contribute to the quality of content on OMA web properties, such as OMA.

org and the OMA mobile app. You will work closely with the UX designers, web specialists and a diverse range of internal stakeholders to strategize and deliver member-centric, accessible digital content.

How you will make a difference

Planning and publishing digital content on OMA web properties, including :

  • Liaising with internal stakeholders and Advocacy, Communications & Marketing (ACM) team members on digital content and design
  • Proofreading and editing content to ensure consistency across all digital platforms, following best practices for web writing, accessibility and SEO
  • Publishing content using a CMS, following best practices for accessibility, design and UX
  • Collaborating with internal stakeholders to create digital content that is engaging, up-to-date and accurate
  • Co-ordinating with internal stakeholders to ensure the timely publication of digital content
  • Leading long-term project bundles to overhaul existing content on OMA digital properties to adhere to new digital content standards, working in collaboration with internal stakeholders
  • Proactively identifying new opportunities and strategies to modernize OMA web properties
  • Participating in OMA digital projects as required

Contributing to the effective functioning of the Digital Content communications team by :

  • Working within department processes for managing content requests, development and delivery
  • Collaborating with brand, UX, web specialists and internal stakeholders
  • Building and maintaining effective working relationships with internal stakeholders
  • Contributing ideas and feedback to the team to continuously evolve and improve content delivery and standards
  • Championing standards for OMA digital content, including best practice principles of user centricity, accessibility, SEO and style guides for grammar

Requirements that are important to us

  • Undergraduate degree in English, journalism or equivalent
  • Six to nine years' experience in digital / technology content design
  • Experience in web writing and editing to deliver high-quality experiences
  • Expertise in synthesizing complex information and communicating it clearly. Keen eye for detail, highly creative and familiar with CP style
  • Strong knowledge of and experience with current web trends and standards
  • Experience delivering digital products and services
  • Familiar with emerging trends in digital communications to advise on content design and strategy and lead the design and ongoing evolution of OMA web properties
  • Working knowledge of content management systems and digital content publishing
  • Knowledge of SEO
  • Exceptional customer service, relationship management abilities and political acuity

The OMA has moved to a permanent hybrid work environment. As such, the individual in this position will be required to work a minimum number of days in our Toronto office.
