About the role :

The Mission is to transform Nanometrics Seismic Monitoring Services (SMS) business unit into the global leader in mining monitoring. Nanometrics is seeking a visionary and results-driven Domain Head, Mining to spearhead this mission.

This pivotal new role requires a unique blend of technical mastery, business savvy, and a passion for global expansion. You will have full ownership of all aspects related to the worldwide expansion of our SMS Mining market. This role involves full ownership of the end-to-end go-to-market strategy, which you will develop and execute in collaboration with all key stakeholders. You will be the driving force behind establishing Nanometrics as the undisputed market leader in the Mining market.

Working directly with the senior SMS leadership team, you will shape our Mining business by forging strategic partnerships, identifying new market and technology opportunities, and collaborating with global product management, sales, and marketing teams to ensure sustainable, long-term growth. Your success will be defined by your ability to position the organization as a leader in the Mining market, build a comprehensive Mining product and service offering and solidify our market dominance within the Mining market.

Responsibilities : Business Development

Architect and own all aspects of Nanometrics SMS business transformation required to achieve ambitious Mining market expansion targets.

Oversee all aspects of the Mining market expansion with the focus on sustainable long-term growth while managing strategic risk.

Define and drive the comprehensive go-to-market strategy for the Mining market, from initial market entry to agile refinement based on on-the-ground intelligence.

Identify and pursue strategic technology and company acquisition targets for accelerated growth.

Drive NMX SMS entry into Distributed Acoustic Sensing (DAS) monitoring and its integration with SMS core services

Product Management

Lead the creation of high-impact business cases that drive new product development charters, turning market needs into new innovative data product solutions.

Act as the voice of the Mining market by providing critical input into product roadmaps, ensuring our portfolio is precisely aligned to achieve ambitious business growth objectives.

Operations

Partner with the Nanometrics Operations teams to build the service delivery ecosystem by defining new collaboration models and establishing a network of complementary operational partners to ensure a robust and scalable commercial project execution in global Mining markets

Collaborate with the Nanometrics Operations team to cultivate and attract exceptional talent within the mining industry to enable market growth and leadership.

Define and execute strategic pilot projects to demonstrate new value propositions, cultivate key client relationships, and capture critical market intelligence. You will serve as the primary initial liaison between clients, operations, and development teams.

Requirements :

BSc or MSc in Geoscience, Physics, Engineering and / or degree in Business Administration with experience in a related field.

8+ years of high-impact experience in the mine seismology, monitoring or related field with solid technical understanding combined with a rare blend of technical expertise and exceptional business acumen.

Demonstrated ability to leverage advanced solutions, such as Distributed Fiber Optic Sensing (DFOS), to enhance mine monitoring practices

Proven ability to convert visionary strategy into tangible results, leading cross-functional teams to execute a winning plan that delivers on ambitious business objectives.

A proactive and entrepreneurial leader who operates with a sense of urgency and independently identifies and seizes new business opportunities.

Exceptional ability to forge and sustain deep, strategic relationships with clients and key industry partners.

Compelling communication and presentation skills that can influence stakeholders at all levels, from technical experts to C-suite executives.

The discipline and resilience to manage multiple high-stakes projects under pressure, consistently delivering results against tight deadlines.

The willingness and flexibility to engage in periodic, high-value travel to drive key business initiatives.
