As the Senior Manager, API Services, you will have an opportunity to provide hands-on leadership to a team of engineers for an enterprise API product and be part of a group of people changing how the Bank develops and consumes APIs and micro services.

We are looking to build our Engineering teams with influencers, practitioners, and leaders who will drive us forward and enhance the experience of our customers.

  • Manage a team of skilled engineering staff, aligning business objectives and delivery.
  • Provide mentorship and help leaders grow in the organization.
  • Set clear, measurable quality goals for the team to achieve.
  • Responsible for driving an inner source mindset and collaborating across orgs.
  • Facilitate the design of best practices how application teams develop and consume APIs and services.
  • Manage the Financials and Budgets for the Product Roadmap and delivery of it.
  • Participate in all aspects of the development life cycle.
  • Evaluate new technology options and vendor products.

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role?

  • BS / MS in Computer Science or equivalent.
  • The successful candidate must have a minimum of 6 years experience leading software development teams through the full development life cycle.
  • At least 10 years industry experience.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong hands-on design and software development experience, with a track record in development and deployment of Java, JavaScript, REST web services, a good understanding of network firewall and load balancer configuration, cloud computing.
  • Experience in designing and building applications using 12-factor Cloud native and Microservices Architecture.
  • Solid understanding of Agile methodology backed by hands on experience, development techniques and best practices for an enterprise framework.
  • Thrive on fast paced, challenging environment with short learning curves. Must be proactive and dynamic and demonstrate initiative and eagerness to succeed.
  • Anticipate and uncover customer, business, and market needs and opportunities that could shape future digital products and experiences.
  • Promote a culture where teams feel comfortable having open dialogue, expressing divergent perspectives, surfacing and debating assumptions, and sharing and testing ideas and hypotheses.
