We are seeking a Group Home Manager to become a part of our team! You will coordinate medical and health services in the group home for individuals with developmental disabilities.
Location: Kanata, Ontario
Start Date: March 15, 2026
Term/Status: Permanent Full Time
Schedule/Hours: Mon 08:00-15:30, Tues 08:00-15:30, Wed 09:00-16:30, Thurs 10:00-17:30, Fri 09:00-16:30 Total - 37.5 hours per week
The Role:
The Manager ensures the group home setting provides a home-like, comfortable living space and opportunities for individuals to develop life skills to their desire and potential.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee medical and health service activities and personnel
- Plan and coordinate health services
- Work collaboratively with physicians to implement appropriate day to day healthcare programs
- Maintain a clean environment to ensure patient safety
- Establish and enforce healthcare policies and procedures
Qualifications:
- Degree or Diploma in Social Sciences, Social Services, or related field and/or degree/diploma in working with individuals with developmental disabilities.
- 2 years of experience in a residential setting, 3 years of experience in adult disabilities training
- 1 year of supervisor experience.
- Ability to work under pressure and strict deadlines.
- Must be able to perform lifts and transfers of 40lbs.
- Experience working in Geriatric care and knowledge of Dementia an asset
- Positive behaviour support training preferred
- Criminal/Vulnerable Record Clearance
- Medical Clearance
- TB Test Clearance
- Satisfactory Driver’s Abstract
- Class 5 Driver’s License
- Willingness to obtain an Unrestricted Class 4 Driver’s License during probation period
- Valid First Aid/CPR
- Non-violent Crisis Intervention Certification
- Excellent written and verbal communication (bilingualism an asset)
- Basic computer literacy - making reports, sending emails, etc.
- Eligibility to work in Canada
