We are seeking an experienced Business Continuity Program Advisor to join our Operations team. In this newly created position, you will ensure E-Comm 911’s operational resilience and preparedness in the face of various disruptions, minimizing the impact on our operations, and maintaining critical functions.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in business continuity planning, risk management, and crisis management.
Reporting to the Executive Director, Operations, this role will develop business continuity plans for E-Comm Operations, including planning, maintaining and testing enterprise business continuity plans, coordinating exercises and training efforts and administering the enterprise business continuity management system (BCMS).
Key responsibilities include :
- Developing and implementing a comprehensive business continuity program, including policies, procedures, and plans
- Conducting risk assessments and business impact analyses to identify potential threats and vulnerabilities
- Collaborating with various internal departments to develop, test, and update business continuity plans
- Identifying training needs and leading business continuity training and awareness programs for staff at all levels
- Coordinating and conducting regular drills and simulation exercises to test the effectiveness of business continuity plans
- Monitoring and reporting on the status of business continuity activities and program effectiveness
- Providing expert advice and guidance on business continuity and risk management issues
- Supporting incident response and crisis management activities as needed
- Maintain documentation of business continuity plans, procedures, and related records
- Staying current with industry best practices, standards, and regulations related to business continuity and disaster recovery
WHAT YOU WILL BRING :
- Bachelor's degree in business continuity management, emergency management, or a related field; or a minimum of 3-5 years of recent, related experience in business continuity programming, process improvement or infrastructure management or a combination of education, training, and experience
- Experience in emergency services and / or contact center experience an asset
- Professional designation in Business Continuity, such as CBCP an asset
- Incident Command Systems certification preferred
- Knowledge of business continuity management, including the development of business impact analysis, recovery strategies, business continuity plans, plan readiness capabilities, testing and maintenance, and continuity program governance
- Strong understanding of industry best practices
- Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships and strategic partnerships with internal and external stakeholders through respect & integrity, open communication, teamwork, negotiation / influence, and relationship management
- Strong ability to communicate clearly and effectively with the ability to translate complex issues into actionable plans and communications, for a diverse group of stakeholders
- Proven ability in developing and maintaining training requirements and material for business continuity and / or disaster management environments
- Strong analytical skills and problem-solving skills with the ability to perform complex business and technical analysis and to identify risks and develop appropriate mitigating strategies
- Familiarity with project management methodology; ability to plan, organize and manage project development and to determine, prioritize and execute project activities
- Ability to simultaneously track and drive the development and maintenance of multiple business continuity plans, each involving the coordination of numerous stakeholders, plan contributors, and plan owners
- Continuous improvement mindset, committed to seeking out opportunities to streamline, enhance and improve processes, functions, methods, and tools
- A commitment to delivering exceptional service including providing after hours support if required
SECURITY REQUIREMENTS :
As a condition of employment at E-Comm, the required Police Security Clearance applicable to the position must be acquired and maintained.
This is a process carried out by our law enforcement partner agencies, facilitated by E-Comm. The minimum residency in Canada to qualify for this position, as established by our law enforcement partner agencies, is 5 years.
To qualify for this process, a candidate may be either a Canadian Permanent Resident or Canadian Citizen. We regret any candidates under Student, Visitor, or Work Visas are not eligible for consideration.

Vaccination Policy : E-Comm 911 has a vaccination policy that is currently suspended. However, should the policy be reinstated, it will be a requirement for all current and future employees.
