Robert Half is in search of a Staff Accountant to join a well renowned growing organization located in the Ottawa region. This is a full-time/permanent role on site.

Responsibilities:

-Prepare monthly operating statements and assist in the preparation of quarterly and year- end financial statements for operating companies

-Work closely with other members of the team to ensure that transactions are entered into the system in a timely manner

-Ensure that all financial transactions are carried out in accordance with ASPE

-Prepare the CAM statements yearly for commercial properties

-Prepare government remittances and ensure timely filings

-Prepare general ledger entries by maintaining records and files; reconciling accounts

-Provide budget versus actual variance analysis

-Ensure to meet department’s objectives by defining individual objectives

-Other duties will be assigned as required

Job Requirements:

Qualifications:

-1+ years of experience performing full-cycle Accounting and related monthly reporting

-Knowledge of Newstar, Yardi or Great Plains is considered a strong asset

-Knowledge of Caseware or other financial statement preparation software is considered a strong asset

-Enrollment in CPA program preferred

-High attention to detail and accuracy

-Ability to exercise good judgment, demonstrate initiative and pro-activeness

-Strong organizational skills and the ability to multi-task

-Sound work ethics

-Knowledge of the Office suite, especially MS Word and MS Excel and MS Outlook

-Proven ability to problem solves, to think strategically, and to take initiative
