Robert Half is in search of a Staff Accountant to join a well renowned growing organization located in the Ottawa region. This is a full-time / permanent role on site.

Responsibilities :

Prepare monthly operating statements and assist in the preparation of quarterly and year- end financial statements for operating companies

Work closely with other members of the team to ensure that transactions are entered into the system in a timely manner

Ensure that all financial transactions are carried out in accordance with ASPE

Prepare the CAM statements yearly for commercial properties

Prepare government remittances and ensure timely filings

Prepare general ledger entries by maintaining records and files; reconciling accounts

Provide budget versus actual variance analysis

Ensure to meet department’s objectives by defining individual objectives

Other duties will be assigned as required

Job Requirements : Qualifications :

1+ years of experience performing full-cycle Accounting and related monthly reporting

Knowledge of Newstar, Yardi or Great Plains is considered a strong asset

Knowledge of Caseware or other financial statement preparation software is considered a strong asset

Enrollment in CPA program preferred

High attention to detail and accuracy

Ability to exercise good judgment, demonstrate initiative and pro-activeness

Strong organizational skills and the ability to multi-task

Sound work ethics

Knowledge of the Office suite, especially MS Word and MS Excel and MS Outlook

Proven ability to problem solves, to think strategically, and to take initiative
