Structural Technologist

Salary: $50,000-$65,000

In this role you will be supporting the structural engineering team by creating AutoCAD drawings and models for the design and construction of water slide projects. You will work closely with Structural Engineers and Engineering Coordinators, to deliver high quality and precise outputs.

YOUR CHALLENGE:

• Supporting the Structural Engineers and Engineering Coordinators with creation of AutoCAD based project drawings for permit and manufacturing of steel structures.
• Assist engineering team with peer reviews and shop drawing reviews.
• Assist in the maintenance and customization of project specific structural details
• Assist in the review of project documentation
• Prepare a wide range of permit drawings and shop drawings for steel structures in the waterpark industry
• Assist in the development and creation of standard documents and templates
• Create 3D models in AutoCAD, and also Advance Steel for various steel structures and parts

WHAT YOU BRING TO THE ROLE:

• Bachelors Degree or Technologist Diploma in Engineering or Applied Science (Mechanical, Civil, Structural)
• 1-3 years experience in AutoCAD, experience in 3-dimensional design an asset
• Past work experience (professional or co-op) in the construction industry, specifically related to steel detailing is considered an asset
• Attention to detail and strong problem solving skills,
• Enthusiasm for collaborative work as part of a team, but also able to work autonomously
• Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
• Excellent time management and organizational skills
• Able to meet tight deadlines in a fast paced, and professional environment

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:

• Salary range: $50,000 - $65,000
