Class 1 Chemical Delivery Driver
JOB DESCRIPTION
Nalco Water, a division of Ecolab, is seeking an experienced and dedicated Class 1, Chemical Delivery Driver to join its logistics team.
If you like travelling on the road and meeting people, you might be the person we are looking for! As a driving professional, you’ll safely operate a diesel, multi-geared bobtail truck / pup and / or tractor- trailer combination vehicle within Quebec, Atlantic Canada and Ontario over city highways, rolling and mountainous terrain and rural roads.
In addition, you’ll provide preventative maintenance of any type of vehicle used to deliver chemicals to customers, plants and warehouse locations.

What You Will Do :
- Safely operate vehicles, including delivery trucks, tank trunks, over-the-road trucks. Maintain truck and equipment in a safe and operable condition at all times.
- Load trailers and schedule daily runs to meet customer delivery requirements
- Work closely with sales team to ensure customer satisfaction
- Perform daily and periodic mechanical and safety inspections
- Responsible for accurate up-to-date delivery location maps, and operate in accordance with regulations governing the transportation of hazardous materials
- Maintain driver's hours of service by using SamSara ELD reporting
- Maintain regular communication with sales and supervisor in order to report field problems and / or safety hazards
- Follow Zero Defect Delivery procedures for all delivery assignments
- Wear appropriate safety gear at all times during delivery operations
- Keep current on safety techniques and take advantage of all opportunities to improve driving and safety skills
- Recognize and avoid safety hazards in the work environment
Position Details :
- Travel will include the provinces of Quebec, Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island and Ontario.
- Scheduled deliveries will be Monday to Friday with approximately 3-4 nights of overnight travel per week.

This position requires successful completion of the 8 week in-field and classroom training program in order to maintain employment.
Minimum Qualifications :
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Possess a current Class 1 Commercial Driver's License (CDL), issued by the province in which the candidate resides with all the relevant endorsements (X - HazMat & Tanker required)
- 3 years commercial driving experience
- 5 years of an acceptable motor vehicle record
- Bilingual with strong French and English verbal communication skills
- Must be able to lift and carry a minimum of 50 lbs.

Preferred Qualifications :
- Experience operating forklifts, drum dollies, trailer hoists, chemical pumps, hoses, meters, printers and gauge
- Experience handling products in various types of packages including bulk, drums, Porta-Feeds and mini / micro-feed units
- Ability to back straight trucks, semi-trucks and trailers into narrow passages through expensive industrial equipment
- Knowledge of equipment, compliant with Federal Safety Regulations and regulations governing the transportation of hazardous materials.
- Proof of Covid-19 vaccination may be required based on client site requirements
