As Mechanical Designer in the NI-IP Organization, you will be responsible for the design development of the latest products and prototypes. This position requires self‑starters who can manage complex designs from initial concepts through to production release. You will work with highly motivated teams of engineering professionals and have personal responsibly to drive your designs through the process.

Qualifications
- Mechanical Engineering University degree from recognized University
- Exposure to telecom electronic system packaging Mechanical Design
- 5+ years design experience an asset
- Understanding of thermal design for electronic equipment
- Knowledge of sheet metal / plastics / die casting
- Knowledge of PTC PRO / E CREO tool
- Knowledge with PCB design and manufacturing methodology
- Knowledge in telecom industry standards (Telcordia and ETSI standards)
- Knowledge of regulatory product qualification
- Self‑motivated enthusiastic team player with good written / verbal communication
- Excellent analytical skills and ability to build relationships across multiple teams
- Proficient with MS office tools
Responsibilities
Participate in the design and development of complex mechanical designs (product architecture, detailed specification definition for complex systems, technology (component) selection and the application of design tools / methods)Develop designs (piece parts and complex assemblies) with guidance and direction (sheet metal, plastic, extrusions and cast parts including fabrication techniques and tolerance analysis)Interface with supply chain and procurement with a focus on sheet metal, plastic and cast designs, cabling, and manufacturability.Responsible for planning and execution of prototype builds for R&D consumptionProvides sizing and estimates of work and review of product development schedulesDecision making to deliver on goals with supervision.Work is carried out in an office and clean lab environment, with limited to no exposure to disagreeable elements#J-18808-Ljbffr
