About the Role
We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Senior Business Development Manager with a strong focus on API and SaaS solutions.
In this pivotal role, you will lead efforts to drive growth, expand market presence, and establish strategic partnerships while ensuring our API solutions meet the evolving demands of the market.
The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in business development, project management, and negotiation, with proficiency in Salesforce to track progress and manage client interactions effectively.
As the Senior Business Development Manager, you will report directly to the VP of Sales. Leveraging your visionary approach to product leadership, along with your extensive experience in business development and go-to-market strategies for cutting-edge SaaS products, you will play a key role in successfully commercializing this product offering.
Your responsibilities include working with and leading a team of technical resources, overseeing the finalization of the product offering and its commercialization.
Your role extends to providing leadership, coaching, and mentorship to our product and technology teams, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and execution.
You will work closely to develop and execute a robust go-to-market strategy. Your objective is to deliver best-in-class solutions to global customers, driving market penetration and fostering widespread adoption.
Your contribution will be instrumental in positioning our new product as a leader in the industry, aligning with the company’s commitment to delivering exceptional solutions on a global scale.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement targeted go-to-market strategies for API and SaaS solutions to increase adoption and drive revenue and product adoption.
- Develop and implement comprehensive business strategies to achieve company objectives and increase market share.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, stakeholders, and partners to foster long-term collaboration.
- Lead negotiations with potential clients to secure contracts that align with the company’s goals and oversee API integration discussions with clients, ensuring smooth deployment and ongoing customer success.
- Identify and pursue business opportunities in transportation technology by researching industry trends such as digital logistics, routing optimization, and fleet management.
- Utilize Salesforce for tracking sales activities, managing customer relationships, and reporting on progress toward targets.
- Prepare and present business proposals to potential clients, showcasing the value proposition of our services.
- Monitor industry developments and adjust strategies accordingly to maintain a competitive edge.
- Identify market opportunities, trends, and potential risks to inform strategic decisions.
- Conduct market research to understand customer needs, the competitive landscape, and market dynamics.
- Analyze data to make informed decisions on product positioning and differentiation.
- Create marketing plans, pricing strategies, and promotional activities to maximize product visibility.
- Build and lead a high-performing team, fostering collaboration and innovation.
- Collaborate with technical teams to create customized API solutions for clients.
- Cultivate relationships with key stakeholders, including clients, partners, and internal teams.
- Communicate effectively to align stakeholders with the product vision and strategy.
- Continuously evaluate and enhance product features based on user feedback.
- Drive sales efforts to achieve revenue targets and market penetration goals.
Qualifications
Deep understanding of API technology and experience in selling SaaS or software platforms within the transportation or logistics industry.
- Experience working with routing, scheduling, and optimization technologies in the transportation sector.
- Proficiency in communicating technical API capabilities to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Proven experience in business development or sales management, preferably in a related industry.
- Strong understanding of customer relationship management principles and practices.
- Exceptional negotiation skills with a track record of closing deals effectively.
- Experience leading technical discussions related to API integration and driving the commercial success of software-based offerings.
- University education in engineering, marketing, or business; an MBA in a relevant discipline is preferred.
- 8+ years of proven experience as a business leader or General Manager in a similar leadership role.
- Strong leadership and team management skills, working with internal and external stakeholders.
- Ability to identify and capitalize on market opportunities for product expansion.
- Proficient in creating and implementing effective go-to-market strategies.
- Leadership skills to build and inspire high-performing teams.
- Demonstrated ability to achieve measurable results and meet business objectives.
- Excellent project management skills with the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret market data and trends.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of building rapport with diverse stakeholders.

Salary range depends on experience and qualification
$120,000 to $140,000
