Director of Music

A bit about us :

Our core values at The Shore Church are evangelism, discipleship, and community. These values flow

throughout all ministry areas, including music. We are praying for a man who is excited to be involved

with his family if he has one) in sharing the gospel, discipling others, and living in community. One who

loves the Lord and has been affirmed in God’s call on his life to serve the church through vocational

ministry.

Qualifications :

  • Testimony of faith in Jesus Christ and a growing personal relationship with Him
  • A passion for music and a humble, team-oriented heart
  • Skilled instrumentalist and quality vocalist
  • Knowledge of sound, audio, ability to read music, a firm understanding of music theory, and a

willingness to learn

  • Work in partnership and in harmony with the Lead Pastor
  • Be able to train and disciple those in your care towards Christlikeness while providing an example

for others in your personal and ministry life

  • Be able to develop annual goals and objectives for the ministry area you are responsible for
  • Lead or commit to being a part of a Community Group within the body of the church (this would

be considered volunteer time, but is mandatory as a paid director of the body)

  • Administrate your team, and church needs that may arise
  • Commitment to, faithfully and joyfully, financially giving to the ministry of The Shore Church
  • Seek to protect the unity of the church
  • Demonstrate a Christ-like attitude through all interactions with congregation, staff, elders and

volunteers

  • Invest and invite the lost to know Jesus
  • Commitment to the mission and vision of The Shore Church, moral purity, and excellence in

ministry

Responsibilities :

Plan, schedule, coordinate, and lead the music for weekend gatherings, and worship nights. The

primary music leader on stage (4 out of 5 Sundays)

  • Develop order of gathering
  • Oversee all technical / sound aspects of the weekend, special events, and train up a team to be

involved in this area of ministry as well as recordings for social media outlets

  • Maintain the music library, instruments, and license agreements
  • Develop a high-quality music ministry through the recruiting and developing of instrumentalists

and vocalists

  • Disciple band members to greater maturity in Christ
  • Oversee the set and stage design
  • Plan and lead music nights outside of Sunday mornings
  • Meet weekly with the staff to review past gatherings and plan for future ones
  • Assist in the responsible stewardship of the music budget, volunteers, and other resources
  • Direct and lead the weekly planning activities and rehearsals
  • Set annual goals for the music ministry that align with the overall mission, vision, and church-wide

annual goals

Possible future oversight and leadership of other areas within the church based on your spiritual

gifting. This could include preaching, teaching classes, etc.

Evaluation and Compensation :

There will be monthly meetings with the Lead Pastor outside of regular meetings with all staff. The

monthly meetings will entail checking in to see how you are functioning within the community, with staff,

and with your responsibilities.

The annual evaluation will be at the end of each ministry year in June.

The Lead Pastor will conduct an annual performance evaluation and review of a compensation package

in consultation with the Elders and / or Finance Committee as needed.

Year end meeting : June

Compensation : Starting $50,000 - $60,000 (room to grow based on desire, talent, skill, and giftedness)

Summer Internship : $22,000 (reserved for Bible School student seeking ministry experience)
